How to Prepare a Table for Easter
SPRINGTIME COLOURS
As the days get lighter and the flowers start to bloom outside, we all want to surround ourselves with bright colours. Our new Lemon and Pink Batik Napkins are a brilliant choice for adding some vibrancy to your table without having to make big changes to your décor. Or if you’re looking for something truly, exceptionally special, nothing says springtime like our Italian Bird Collection of plates, bowls and platters.
Handmade and painted in Italy, these are a favourite on our table year after year, and bring us joy at every single use. Pair your springtime brights with a simple backdrop to let the colours pop – our Grey Stonewashed Quilted Cotton Placemats are perfect for this.
SEASONAL TOUCHES
From painted eggs to chocolate bunny displays, you can get incredibly creative with the little details on an Easter table. We love to keep it simple while making sure there’s plenty of personality – our glass BonBon Jars filled with mini chocolate eggs is an elegant yet fun touch that never goes unnoticed.
JOYFUL CENTERPIECES
Flowers are a must for the centrepiece of your Easter table – tulips, hyacinths and daffodils in particular are an excellent choice, and come in a wide variety of colours, so you’re sure to find a bunch that will complement your chosen table décor. Arranged in our stunning round Prague Crystal Vase, seasonal flowers will create an abundant, impactful display. If you’ve got a long table to set, add a couple of smaller bouquets at either end, using our lime green Rambla vase, to make sure everyone gets to enjoy a few springtime blooms.
April isn't a particularly warm month, but we're so excited by the prospect of seeing our loved ones that we definitely aren't going to be put off by a bit of a cool breeze. Instead, we're going to make sure everyone stays cosy and warm with our gorgeous, impossibly soft Faux Rabbit Fur Throws. If you're entertaining outdoors, this is the perfect way to maximise time spent chatting, catching up and enjoying the company.
PLAN YOUR MENU FOR EASE
There are all kinds of make-ahead recipes that you can use to make Easter easier on you. And while traditional roast lamb is a lovely choice, this year how about planning a menu for simplicity and relaxation – consider what you and your guests really love to eat, as well as what dishes you enjoy cooking. Perhaps a selection of salads, warm bread and small dishes that can be nibbled while spending hours chatting, or a big pot of homemade stew cooked in advance – maximising your time spent with your guests or your household.
AN UNFORGETTABLE ENDING
Our new glass Plaza BonBon Jar has a trick up its sleeve – not only is it a perfectly charming home décor choice, it can also be used to serve individual desserts. Imagine chocolate mousses topped with crushed chocolate eggs, or scoops of ice cream layered with a homemade fruit compote. Simply stunning.
We hope this guide has helped to inspire you, and wish you a very happy Easter when it comes.
